The ELFINVISION Wheelchair Assistant detects wheelchairs using optical sensors and AI-supported local processing. Unlike with other technologies, wheelchairs are detected reliably and without risk of confusion. The elevator can then, for example, be called fully automatically, adjust door opening times, or trigger a priority ride – entirely according to your requirements. The key advantage over permanently extended door opening times lies in the overall performance of the elevator. This is particularly relevant in hospitals and care facilities, where door timing is one of the most important factors influencing transport capacity.

The ELFINVISION Door Man enables intelligent access control for elevators. Using sensors and AI-supported technology, specific objects such as wire mesh warehouse cage can be reliably detected. Based on this detection, access to defined areas or floors can be selectively restricted. At the same time, authorized objects, such as laundry or cleaning carts, can be automatically recognized and granted access. This not only optimizes operational processes but also helps prevent misuse or unintended use of elevators. As a result, the solution helps avoid damage to the elevator interior and contributes to long-term operational safety.

Security & optimization with object recognition

ELFINVISION detects and identifies objects in elevator cabins and reacts accordingly. Using advanced cameras and image processing algorithms, ELFINVISION can automatically detect forgotten luggage, for example, and alert security staff, who can then react immediately. When wheelchairs or baby carriages are detected, the system adjusts the cabin control by keeping the door open for longer. This intelligent technology increases passenger safety and comfort while optimizing the efficiency of elevator use.

Fire & Firefighter Elevators

flexyPage displays assist during fire incidents by showing the exact position of the elevator car and the estimated number of trapped individuals. Connected to position and load sensors, these displays help rescue personnel conduct evacuations more quickly and efficiently. They also offer real-time updates from network cameras, assisting firefighters in assessing the situation inside and outside the elevator during rescue operations. With our VideoEvac, this support is specifically extended in accordance with DIN EN 81-76:2026-01: in an evacuation scenario, an external signal automatically switches the displays into evacuation mode and presents structured, visual information per floor – including camera previews, status messages, and highlighted emergency calls. flexyPage displays can also automatically show escape and rescue plans during certain events.

Parking Assistance for Automated Parking Systems

Use smart sensors to prevent accidents and increase the transportation performance of automated parking systems. Our sensors can be trained to give your automated parking system feedback regarding the correct position of the vehicle to be parked or unparked. These are individually adapted to the conditions of your parking system (size of vehicles and parking spaces, distances, etc.). This speeds up the parking and retrieval process and, thanks to the precision of our sensors, can also optimize the use of the available space.

Avoiding and Resolving Bottlenecks

Our tried-and-tested smart sensor technology can be trained to specifically detect backlogs at or on escalators in your building and intervene in the control system based on this. For example, if the sensor detects that a queue is forming at the end of the escalator, creating a potential accident risk from passengers following behind, it slows down or stops the escalator until the backlog has cleared. In combination with our smart displays, digital signposts or information can also be shown at the end of the escalator depending on the situation, allowing passengers to quickly find their way and thus move away from the escalator. Our sensors can also detect and help avoid backlogs in front of elevators: They optimize the control of the elevator cars depending on the situation so that crowds of people on certain floors are dispersed as quickly and effectively as possible.

Sensors for Freight Container Management

Our smart sensor technology can be trained to recognize certain types of freight containers and provide information about their position and orientation. This allows loading and unloading processes to be significantly shortened and error rates in the positioning of containers to be significantly reduced.

Do you operate a large goods handling area where many vehicles drive in and out and want to make access more effective? Our smart sensors can be trained on certain features of vans and trucks so that they can reliably recognize your company logo or other unique features, for example, and automatically open barriers based on this.

AI-based object detection for efficient warehouse & production logistics

One use case of ELFINVISION is elevator systems in industrial halls and production facilities. The technology identifies in real time the objects located in or in front of the elevator—whether it’s a goods pallet, a forklift, or a person—and transmits this information directly to the elevator system. With the intelligent AI-based call feature, the elevator is automatically summoned when needed, eliminating the need for operators to dismount, thus enabling smooth and efficient operations. Additionally, the forklift operator receives early information about what to expect, allowing them to maintain a safe distance in time and avoid collisions. Conventional systems often rely on magnetic loops embedded in the floor or other physical contact-based methods. Unlike our image-analysis-based solution, these systems are far more prone to malfunctions and render certain areas unusable for normal activities.

Recognition of safety gear

ELFINVISION can be used in industry to ensure compliance with safety regulations by automatically recognizing work clothing. The technology scans employees as they enter work areas and checks that they are wearing all the prescribed protective equipment such as helmets, safety shoes or safety goggles. If any of the equipment is missing, the person receives a warning and access to the relevant area is denied. In this way, ELFINVISION ensures that only correctly equipped employees enter safety-critical zones, which significantly reduces the risk of accidents.

Occupational Safety

Working alone involves risks, especially when it comes to dangerous work. With our smart displays and sensors and our two-senses emergency call, we offer a high-quality overall package in the field of occupational safety. Our sensors can be trained to detect potential emergency situations specific to your building, such as fainting, seizures or physical attacks, to make automatic emergency calls and to provide the emergency call center with an overview of the situation via camera.
